1月5日 Christmas and New YearWe have just uploaded some photos of Martina - Luis and Marianna's daughter. On the 19th December she turned 1 with her two little teeth and her first few and unsure steps!
We spent a very quiet christmas enjoying the company of Edus family. In our spare moments we were in our house setting up the kitchen cabnets etc. and just trying to move things along. New Years was also very quiet but just what we needed.
Now we are preparing for the most eagerly awaited visit of the year - The Three Wise Kings, which arrive tonight!!!! All the kids are excited and preparing to go to the parade where they will be thrown lollies of all shapes and sizes from the magical KINGS! This is the best time to do your last minute shopping as all of the shops are finally empty and free of the chaotic survival challange - were stressed parents push you out of their way to buy all of the 5000 gifts that their children asked the kings for. It is exactly like all of the other countries which celebrate Santa Claus but with a few weeks difference.
Once that chaos is over, we will meet at Edus mothers house with all of his brothers and sisters (except Jaito, who has already returned to Denmark). There we will finally unvail the secret santas!
In a few weeks we will have another public holiday - San Sebastian, which is the patron city of Palma. On that day the town hall sets up hundreds of grills in all of the "Plazas" around the city, where you can grill the typical chorizos, xot, sausages and whatever else you want to eat. There are also concerts in all of the "Plazas", and its is a lot of fun.
So, we hope that you all have enjoyed the holidays to some extent and we are wishing you a wonderful year and keep smiling! |
